Bishop Burton College
HISS 2024 will be returning to Bishop Burton College, near Beverley, for the seventh year.
The college is set amongst 360 hectares of one of UK's leading agricultural training centres, with landscaped gardens, working farm and international equestrian centre. The idyllic rural surroundings of Bishop Burton College include a Victorian walled garden, tree lined walk, large glasshouse and extensive grounds, walks and woods, so there will be plenty of opportunity for music making al fresco - but the classrooms are easily accessible in a compact block.
In addition there is a small animal centre, used for veterinary courses, home to other residents, such as otters, parakeets and meerkats, rheas and alpacas, as well as more familiar domestic animals and pets.
Accommodation for 4 nights (Monday to Thursday) is included in the course fees. If you would like to extend your stay on campus this can be arranged directly with the venue.
The rooms available are all single with an ensuite bathroom facility. There are a very limited number of disabled rooms on the ground floors.
Towels and some complimentary toiletries are included.
Shared kitchen facilities in each accommodation block includes a fridge, kettle, toaster and microwave, with tea and coffee available too.
Wi-fi is available throughout the accommodartion, and youwill get a wi-fi code at registration.
There is free on-site car parking available adjacent to the residence blocks for all participants.
Accommodation
Breakfasts, evening meals, and refreshments at breaks are included in the course fees. All meals are provided on campus in Meadows Dining Hall, between the accommodation blocks and the main building.
Meals are served cafeteria style, except for the Musical Banquet, which consists of a three course meal with table service.
The bar is adjacent to the dining hall, and has ample space for the tunes sessions or informal singing in the evenings.
Lunch is not included in the fees, but light meals and snacks are available in the Meadows.
